Vitrales: Stained-glass Windows to City of Waters

This project features a collection of a site specific investigation into the chromatic, atmospheric, and cultural identity of Venice, developed through on site painting, observational fieldwork, and process based documentation. This project emerges from a long standing engagement with the city. During my previous period of study and living in Venice, I discovered that my work is shaped not only by what I see, but by how the city’s light transforms the act of seeing itself. I witnessed in Venice how light dissolves edges, activates color, and creates shifting relationships between architecture, water, and sky.
